Member of Parliament for Molo Constituency Kuria Kimani is confident that the vetting report from Appointment Committee  on cabinet Secretaries nominees will be true and transparent.

Kimani has said that he has faith with the Appointment Committee to ensure that they carefully consider the criteria for establishing the nominees.

Speaking to the press in Molo, on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, the Member of Parliament has congratulated the selection committee for the good work they achieved.

"There is the Appointment Committee which was led by Hon. Speaker Moses Wetang'ula who has been able to do a very objective exercise of vetting the nominees for the Cabinet Secretaries," praised MP Kimani.

The politician has said that he expects the report when it will be released not to be based on any political wing.

"We are waiting for the report that they will be able to bring to the table so that we can discuss it in the parliament," he said.

"One of the principles that we say in the parliament is that we don't anticipate the report that they will be able to debate about but I am confident that the report that they will be able to bring to the parliament is a report that will highlight the truth and not propaganda, the truth of the qualifications and competence of those people," he added.

Kimani has stressed that many Kenyans were satisfied with the committee's activity and therefore do not expect  any flaws in the report.

He said that the exercise involved all Kenyans and gave them the opportunity to contribute.

He has explained that Kenyans had the opportunity to send their questions aimed at cabinet secretaries.

"The vetting process was able to be highlighted by all Kenyans and they could even see others send their questions and ask a lot of questions to these nominees," said Kimani.

Those questions focused on the performance of the reappointed Cabinet Secretaries for their performance in their previous ministries and what they plan to do to strengthen the ministries they were assigned to.

Those who were appointed for the first time were also asked their vision about their Ministries.

The report is awaited to be released and discussed in parliament to assess the fate of the elected ministers.
