Lusaka to Azimio politicians: May God forgive you

Bungoma governor Kenneth Lusaka has expressed confidence that president William Ruto will turn around the country's economic fortunes.

The governor said that majority of Kenyans are suffering due to economic hardships, adding that Ruto's Kenya Kwanza administration has put in measures to ensure things change.

He wondered how Azimio politicians have made a quick turn around and started blaming the government over the high cost of living, yet they remained mum during retired president Uhuru Kenyatta's time in office.

Some of the political figures currently in Azimio supported Uhuru and ODM leader Raila Odinga's 2018 handshake.

"Those who destroyed our economy are the ones making noise now, those that were for the handshake. They are making noise because they are on the other side and things have changed. May God forgive them," he said.

At the same time, Lusaka reiterated his commitment towards construction and equiping more ECDE classrooms in the county.

Speaking at Chepkoya primary school in Kaptama Ward, Mt Elgon while handing-over a personal donation of furniture to six ECDE centres, Lusaka said developing of early childhood centres was a key devolved function and should never be ignored.

"During my campaigns, I promised to change the face of our early learning centres, and this I assure you I will do."

He added that his administration is working round the clock to ensure ECDE teachers get new schemes of service, as a way of improving working conditions.

"We are keen on quality academic standards for our children. We want to make everything right from the foundation," he said.

The county boss further reassured residents of development, saying he was keen on ensuring he leaves a legacy in his last term.

"I want to be remembered for development. We are creating footprints in all departments, to leave a legacy," he added.

He handed over 500 seats to ECDE learners.
