Lusaka to leaders: Let me deliver on my mandate

Bungoma governor Kenneth Lusaka has urged elected leaders in the county to accord him time to deliver on his mandate.
Speaking on Monday, the county boss elected leaders to focus on their mandate and allow him to deliver his campaign pledges for the best of the people.
"We were all elected into office to serve in different capacities. Each one of us should stick to their respective roles," said the governor.
On matters employment opportunities at the county, the governor stated that the County Public Service Board (PSB) is bound by the constitution to interview and select individuals on merit, and therefore, should not be interefered with.
The Bungoma PSB is racing against time to fill the position of County Secretary.
"Allow the Public Service Board to deliver on the County Secretary position and give us a suitable candidate. Don't interfere the process," added Lusaka.
He spoke during the swearing in ceremony of Municipal Board Members at the county headquarters.
On Sunday, the former Senate Speaker called on political leaders to stop divisive politics, adding that it was a precursor for slowed development.
Speaking in Nandi County while attending Sunday service and funds drive at Kapsabet Anglican Church, Lusaka emphasized on the need for what he termed as a united presidency.
He urged critics to accord the President and his Deputy ample time to deliver their mandate for the people.
"Divisive politics hampers development. We should advocate for a united leadership to deliver development for our people."
The governor expressed his full support for the Kenya Kwanza administration, assuring of total back up from his Bungoma backyard.
The function was graced by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and attended by several leaders, including the host governor Stephen Sang.
