Makueni County Neurosurgical Camp

Makueni County government has partnered with the Brain Tumour Association of Kenya to offer free neurosurgical operations from June 1-3 in three major hospitals in the area.

The free medical camps will be held at Mbooni and Makindu Sub county hospitals and Makueni County Referral hospital after those in need of the services have been screened from across the area.

“We are going to conduct screening from all our health facilities in the county as from Monday the 29/05/2023. The people found with problems will be referred to be operated on in any of the three facilities identified,” said Dr. Robert Musau the Makueni County Referral Hospital Administrator while speaking to KNA in his Wote office on Friday.

While saying the screening and operations will be free, Musau appealed to the local residents to come out in large numbers in a bid to make the exercise a success.

He added that mobilization will be done by the health workers in their respective health facilities.

During the camp, we shall have surgeons from other counties, those from Makueni and students from various medical schools who will come to learn.

Other partners include Radio Africa Group, San-Pharma, Musyi FM, Krishna Chemist limited, Meditronic and University of Nairobi respectively.
