MCA dies in a road accident

Tana River Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) are mourning one of their own.

Until his demise on Saturday morning through a tragic road accident, Hamisi Idd was the MCA for Chewani Ward.

The accident occurred at Kanagoni area, along the Garsen-Malindi highway.

Hamisi Idd who doubled up as majority leader in the Tana River County Assembly, was elected in August 2022, on President William Ruto's UDA party.

The party in a condolence message said residents of Chewani Ward have lost a dedicated leader.

"The party and the People of Chewani Ward have lost a focused and dedicated leader who put the interests of his people first," said the party.

"During this moment of grief, we pray for the soul of the departed, his family, and the people of Chewani Ward. May his soul rest in eternal peace."

Before his election, he served as a bodyguard for Tana River governor, Dhadho Godhana.
