Migori County Commissioner David Gitonga has assured the education stakeholders and parents of adequate security as the national examination nears.

Speaking after meeting security team and education stakeholders in Migori Town, Gitonga said that the security and the education stakeholders had put in place measures to ensure there is enough security in school premises to enable the smooth running of the national examinations.

He said that the multi sectoral security team will also be alert to ensure the national exams meet the set integrity and credible levels required.

The administrator however, urged the public to assist the security team to ensure that the exams being administered were credible for the benefits of the future generation.

Migori County Director of Education Jacob Onyiego said that education stakeholders in Migori were set to administer exams in all the 12 Sub counties.

He said that over 80,000 candidates will sit for their KPSEA and KCPE exams while 23,000 candidates will be sitting for their KCSE.

Migori-Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) Executive Secretary Samuel Orwa assured parents that teachers had prepared the students well, urging them to give moral support to their children in order to enable them excel in their upcoming national examinations.

Orwa disclosed that teachers will work closely with the security team to ensure that the national examinations are credible and handled with integrity met.
