Over 200 adults have enrolled in continuous Adult Education centers in Butere Sub County.
Area Adult and Continuous Education Officer Willis Owino said they had enrolled about 230 adult learners across the centers.
“So far, we have enrolled 230 learners who are instructed across the centers. We hope to add more with the assistance of National Government Administration Officers,” he said.
He appealed to the illiterate adults to enroll in the nearest ten centers in Butere Sub County to have a learning space and sustainable development.
Speaking Friday during celebrations to mark the International Literacy Day at the Deputy County Commissioner’s ground in Butere, Owino said 10 instructors had also been deployed in the area by the National Government to impart knowledge to the senior citizens.
He recommended the National Government Administration Officers (NGAO) for their continued support in mobilizing the locals to join the institutions.
The function was attended by senior government officials led by the Butere deputy county commissioner Hassan Hussein and other stakeholders.
