Nairobi residents are looking forward to ushering in the new year with pomp and color with several activities lined up.

A spot check around the Capital City indicates that entertainment joints have planned various events to attract revelers and make a kill as the festive season ends.

Similar plans have been made by Churches and places of worship that are set to have a night of prayer and worship to usher in the new year.

Corporates have lined up similar events with major fireworks organized by GTC/AVIC along Westlands to usher in the new year 2024.

Jays' Pyrotechnics designed and choreographed the grand New Year's Eve fireworks show.

Fireworks form part of major entertainment events expected to take place in the City and other parts of the country.

Nairobi Regional Police Commander Adamson Bungei assured residents that security has been beefed up in the Capital City and its environs with increased police patrols.

"We have deployed police officers in our estates and roads to ensure no crime incidents are reported. I want to assure Nairobi residents of their safety and that of their property during the festive season," said Bungei.

Businessmen have also expressed optimism about increased business with Francis Ndonye a Nyama Choma joint operator along Waiyaki way saying that he expects increased business as people celebrate the new year.
