The National Ordinary People Empowerment Union (NO PEU) political party has held its inaugural National Delegates Council (NDC) and vowed to support the Kenya Kwanza Government in the implementation of its manifesto.
The event that was held at Meru National Polytechnic, presided over by its party leader who is also the Tigania East MP Mpuru Aburi attracted at least 1000 delegates from across the country.
In his remarks, Aburi said the elections were over and the party had taken a decision to support the winning team.
"We are alive to the fact that the elections were over and our President is Dr William Ruto," he reiterated.
As a party, we do not want to be in the opposition side and this is the reason we are supporting the government of the day, added Aburi.
The MP added that the main aim of constituting the conference was to hand over the party to the delegates who will be making decisions about the party in future.
"The party is now in the hands of the delegates and they should now start selling it in the grassroots and also start a massive recruitment exercise for new members," said Aburi.
However, Aburi remained categorical that the party will not fold up to join any other party or coalition and that they will field all other candidates for various seats in 2027 apart from the topmost seat, since they will be supporting President Ruto for a second term.
"We are telling the whole world that NO PEU will not be dissolved and we will be having candidates for all elective positions but we will not be fielding any Presidential candidate as we will be supporting President Ruto just as we are doing now," said Aburi.
