Tim Wanyonyi is the most preferred gubernatorial candidate in Nairobi County, the latest opinion poll shows.
The opinion poll conducted by Mizani Africa shows that 29.2 per cent of Nairobi voters would today vote for Wanyonyi, now the Westlands Member of Parliament as their next governor.
Wanyonyi is eying the seat on an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party ticket.
Coming second in the race for the Nairobi governor seat is the current senator Johnstone Sakaja.

File image of Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi. [Photo: Courtesy][/caption]Sakaja who recently revealed he is a member of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and not the Amani National Congress (ANC) as it had been thought polled 23.3 per cent.
The opinion poll surveyed 1,063 city residents through phone interviews with a 95 per cent confidence level and a sampling margin error of +/-3.
Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) President Richard Ngatia ranks at number three with 19.1 per cent preference.
Ngatia is vying for the seat on a Jubilee ticket, alongside the current county boss Ann Kananu who had 15.6 per cent in the opinion poll released on Friday, April 8, 2022.
Former Starehe Member of Parliament Bishop Margaret Wanjiru, eyeing the UDA ticket had a preference of 11.2 per cent.
The Nairobi gubernatorial race is likely to be a closely contested race, based on the opinion poll, should Azimio la Umoja and Kenya Kwanza find a way of fielding single candidates.
In the Senate seat race, ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna is ahead of the pack with 31.2 per cent preference, followed by UDA candidate Karen Nyamu who had 28.2 per cent.
Maina Kamanda, eying the seat on a Jubilee party ticket polled 20.4 per cent in the preference for the Nairobi Senatorial seat.
For the Nairobi Woman Representative seat, it would have been a three-horse, if elections were held today.
Wangui B. Ng’ang’a is ahead with a 29.2 per cent rating, followed by the current Woman Rep Esther Passaris with 27.9 per cent.
Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga comes third with 23.5 per cent preference.
Both Wangui B. and Millicent Omanga are eying the UDA ticket, while Passaris is hoping to defend her seat on an ODM ticket.
