As the Paris Olympics is underway on day 11, Monday 5th,hundreds of athletes have been awarded medals in gold, silver and bronze. 

The marquee event took place on the track on Sunday at Stade de France, where the world's fastest man Noah Lyles was Crowned 100 meters champion within just 0.004 seconds. 

He became the first American to win the Olympic title in the event since Justin Gatlin in 2004.

As it stands US leads the way at the medal standings with a total of 73 medals followed closely by China. 

1. USA — 73 (20 gold, 27 silver, 26 bronze)

2. China — 45 (19 gold, 15 silver, 11 bronze)

3. France — 44 (12 gold, 14 silver, 18 bronze)

4. Great Britain — 37 (10 gold, 12 silver, 15 bronze)

5. Australia — 31 (12 gold, 11 silver, 8 bronze)

T6. South Korea — 24 (10 gold, 7 silver, 7 bronze)

T6. Japan — 24 (9 gold, 5 silver, 10 bronze)

8. Italy — 24 (7 gold, 10 silver, 5 bronze)

9. Canada — 17 (5 gold, 4 silver, 8 bronze)

10. Netherlands — 15 (6 gold, 5 silver, 4 bronze)

The Paris Olympics will finally culminate on Sunday, 11 August, 2024 at the Stade Paris in Paris with the official closing ceremony and awarding of medals.
