President Ruto meets US mega tech, Fashion Executives

President William Ruto met Company Executives from the technology and fashion industry during his ongoing tour in the United States.
The President met Apple CEO Tim Cook at the companies headquarters in California. The President revealed that Apple is working with the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) to enhance the country's healthcare technology and innovation.Apple recently launched its latest model iphone 15 which is expected to enter the Kenyan market.
The head of state went on to meet Intel CEO Patrick Gelsinger. Intel has established an AI Developer Lab at Kenya Technical Trainers' College to train master trainers for youth AI application development and is ready to venture into other areas.
Ruto was hosted by Google representatives led by the companie's Chief Financial Officer Ruth Porat at the company headquarters. The President in his Facebook account mentioned that Google is actively contributing to Kenya's development by granting Ksh 600M (USD 5M) to enhance connectivity for crucial citizen services, assist in affordable smartphone device creation and support SMEs through the Google Hustle Academy.
The president further mentioned the impact of Microsoft in Kenya's technology whose wireless broadband and device recharge facilitates have impacted over 1.5 million families through its partnership with Mawingu tech.
The president mentioned that Kenya is a reliable and strategic hub for US tech and manufacturing companies,
"Kenya has plenty of opportunities to offer American technology and manufacturing companies, particularly its potential as a vital African base and prime centre for tech, manufacturing, connectivity, infrastructure development and garment fabrication." Ruto stated in his Facebook page.
He further mentioned that Kenya has a steady and reliable workforce that can contribute to the expansion of the US companies.
" Our strong pool of innovative, skilled and energetic workforce is able and ready to power the expansion of these companies across the African continent." Ruto stated.
President Ruto also met executives from Nike, GAP and Levi Strauss, in San Francisco, United States.
Ruto was in company of US Ambassador to Kenya Meg Whitman and Foreign and Diaspora Affairs Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua amongst other representatives.
The Head of State will thereafter attend the 78th UN General assembly and the UN Secretary-General’s Climate Ambition Summit, building on the successes of the recently concluded Africa Climate Summit in Nairobi.
