Ruto appoints SRC, IPOA commissioners’ selection panels

President William Ruto has set the ball rolling in as far as the appointment of commissioners in four constitutional commissions is concerned.
The four are the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC), the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA), the Commission on Administrative Justice (CAJ), and the National Gender and Equality Commission (NGEC), whose leaders are nearing the end of their 6-year-non renewable terms.
SRC chairperson Lyn Mengich and her IPOA counterpart Anne Makori, are expected to leave office in the coming days, with Chief of Staff Felix Koskei stating that there’s a need for seamless leadership transition.
As such, Koskei said the Head of State has appointed selection panels for each commission. The panels are composed of various representatives from professional societies, government departments, and other stakeholders.
