President William Ruto has given his word on ensuring that cash transfers meant for the vulnerable in society are done on time.
Speaking in Taita Taveta County on Sunday, president Ruto said the aim is to ensure that there are no delays in the disbursement of the cash, starting with this month's payment.
He said the elderly and persons with disabilities will no longer have to wait for long, to get their dues.
“If there are people who deserve our support, it is the vulnerable in society,” said the Head of State.
The vulnerable in society have been waiting for months on end, sometimes up to three months before receiving funds from the government.
Most of the elderly across the country are attacked across the country after getting the money, with their tormentors believing that they recieved a lumpsome from the government.
Additionally, the president ured Kenyans across the country to give Azimio demos a wide birth, and join him in nation building.
The president maintained that the cost of living cannot be brought down by protests.
“The way to deal with the high cost of food is by increasing production so that we can increase supply and be able to manage prices."
Azimio leaders have called for demos on Wednesday this week, after three days of protests last week.
