Ruto's high expectations as new cabinet is sworn in

President William Ruto has expressed his expectations towards the broad-based government.

 Ruto is confident that the broad based cabinet will achieve a lot and this will in return help the economy soar.

Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony on Thursday, August 8, 2024, Ruto said that the newly formed cabinet will deliver to Kenyans.

Ruto defended his move to create a broad based government and he believes every single person he picked has great ideas that will help build and grow Kenya to the next level.

"It is clear that we are fully united by a shared devotion to secure a prosperous Kenya that serves all of us," he stated. 

Ruto stated that the combined energy of ideas from both sides of political parties will bring success to the country. 

In addition, Ruto said inclusion of all Kenyans and leaders from different political alignment is for the sake of national development. 

"For this reason I am persuaded that this moment in the life of our nation calls on us to build a strong team of rivals to give our transformation agenda the best chance of success and to enhance inclusivity in our national development," said Ruto. 

President stated that the created broad-based government has showcased patriotism which will enhance the team to unlock potential of development that was previously barred by unhealthy political competition. 

" With the information of this broad-based government that brings together former political rivals into one selfless patriotic team, we will unlock the potential of our country that has long been denied us by fractional and sectarian competition," he noted. 

Ruto admitted that it is the right time for Kenyans to fight for the interests of the country and bury their political interests.
