Shabana FC lost 1-0 against Ulinzi Stars FC in a Football Kenya Federation Kenya Premier League match played at the Raila Odinga Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Tore Bobe came smiling after a previous 5-2 victory over Nzoia Sugar last week.

Ulinzi Stars grabbed an early goal when a ball from new signing Leshan Mootian fell to the experienced forward Masita Masuta, who completed a beautiful finish.

Shabana almost came to a quick equalizer Ezekiah Omuri' shot was brilliantly saved by a diving Michael Wanyika.

Shabana were dry on chances forcing newly appointed manager Sammy Omollo Pamzo to make quick changes in the 34th minute, taking off rusty Lamela Maneno for Benard Onyando.

George Onayngo brilliant strike was superbly denied by Wanyika and the score was 1-0 during the half-time break in the favour of the visitors.

Shabana came inspired in the second half creating more chances for an equalizer as Vincent Naybuto failed to hit the target from a well-struck shot at goal.

A few minutes later, Shabana fouled Javan Omondi and Shannel Makwatta’s efforts from a set piece were saved when Mustafa Oduor produced a double save.

Pamzo made more changes introducing Mutua Wycliffe and Tegisi Mathew. 

Tegisi cut inside from the right hand and he unleashed a rasping shot which was brilliantly tipped over the crossbar by Michael Wanyika.

The Soldiers maintained strength to put Shabana at bay sealing their sixth win of the season.

Meanwhile, The defeat means Shabana are sitting 17th on the log with 17 points after winning four games, drawing five while losing 10 times in 19 games played in the league.

In another match played on Saturday, Bandari was held to a 2-2 draw by Kariobangi Sharks at Mbaraki sports complex in Mombasa.

The result sees the Dockers remain in fourth place on 31 points, twelve adrift of log leaders Gor Mahia, while the Sharks are with 19 points and just one point above the red zone.

KCB and Muhoroni Youth played to a goalless draw in an other FKF Premier League game at Thika Municipal Stadium today.
