Supkem leader calls for peace as president visit Homabay County

Supkem secretary for Homa bay county Nuhu Abdul Omollo Masoud has called on Homa bay county residents to prepare to welcome President Dr William Samoei Ruto when he visits Saturday.
The president will tour Homa bay County during the homecoming and thanks giving event of PS interior and coordination of national administration Raymond Omollo to be held at Oriwo boys in Karachuonyo constituency.
During the visit the president is also expected to launch various development projects in the county.
“I call upon all of us to be ready to welcome the president since he is the symbol of unity,” said the Supkem leader who is also the vice chair interreligious council of Kenya Homabay chapter said.
He said Kenya is a sovereign state adding just as the Quran in Surah Al-Baqarah 2:247 and Surah Ali Imran 3:26, ‘O Allah, owner of sovereignty, you give sovereignty to whom you will and take away sovereignty from whom you will’ tomorrow will take care of itself but for now Dr. Ruto is our president and there is no offense in welcoming him.
Mr Masoud said for Muslims, Islam means peace and urged the residents to keep peace in the county and in the country at large.
“I humbly request all Kenyans to embrace one another and keep the peace,” he said.
The Supkem leader was speaking Friday after prayers at Jamia mosque in Oyugis town.
He called on all Christians, the Muslims and all the people of Karachuonyo and Homa bay County at large to welcome the head of state tomorrow, terming him the father of the nation.
