Tharaka Nithi Politician Found Dead

Former Tharaka Nithi Gubernatorial candidate Felix Gitari Mbiuki was Tuesday  found dead at Kanganga along Ishiara-Ciakariga road in Mbeere North Sub-county, Embu.

The body of the 60-year-old businessman cum politician was found dead in his vehicle that was parked by the roadside with a bullet hole below the right ear that exited above the left eye according to a report released by the police.

The deceased who was a licensed firearm holder was found holding a pistol with eight rounds of ammunition with his left hand by the chest according to a police report released to the media by area OCPD Eric Yego.

A spent cartridge was also recovered in the vehicle.

A wallet with Sh. 35. 000 was among items recovered by Scene of crime detectives as investigations were launched to establish whether it was a case of suicide or murder.

A report filed by his brother at Ishiara Police Station indicated that the deceased left his Weru home in Tharaka Nithi on Monday afternoon at around 3pm.

The body was taken to Tenri Ena Hospital mortuary for preservation awaiting post mortem.
