Tom Mshindi appointed KBC Board chair

Veteran journalist and media manager Tom Mshindi is the new Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) board chair.
In a gazette notice dated 19th January, 2024, president William Ruto said Mshindi will serve for three years, with his appointment taking effect immediately.
"In Exercise of the powers conferred by section 7 (3) of the State Corporations Act and section 4 (1) (a) of the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation Act, I, William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, appoint Tom Mshindi Nyamancha to be the Chairperson of the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation Board, for three years, with effect from January 19, 2024," said the president in the notice.
Mshindi joins KBC board with a wealth of experience, having risen through the ranks starting as a journalist, and later as the Managing Editor of the Daily Nation, a Nation Media Group (NMG) brand.
Additionally, he held the position of Managing Director of Monitor Publications, an NMG subsidiary in Uganda, Managing Director of Nation Newspapers Division and Chief Operating Officer.
As chairman, Mshindi will play a key role in guiding the state-owned broadcaster toward fulfilling its mandate.
