Schools in West Pokot County have showcased remarkable achievements by posting impressive results in the just released Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results.

Chewoyet High school, The Kapenguria school and Nasokol Girls are among the leading schools in the county.

At Chewoyet High school, one student achieved an A grade, while 24 students received an A minus. Additionally, 56 students were got a B plus,90 students attained a B grade, and 75 students received a B minus. Furthermore, 50 students achieved a C plus, 12 students received a C grade, and one student was awarded a C minus.

Among the top students at Chewoyet high school was Victor kigen who scored an A, who emerged the best student in West Pokot County.

Others who performed well included Laurencia Lokabuk (A-), Joshua Ochieng (A-), Caleb Wafula (A-), Peter Wanjala (A-), Kipgosgei Braving (A-), Cyrille kipkorir (A-), Victor kimtai (A-), Jonathan Godfrey (A-) and Peter Odongo (A-).

At Kapenguria School with 399 candidates mean score of 7.84 of B minus mean grade where 16 got A plain,49- B plus, 79- B plain, 84- B minus,80- C plus,54-C plain,27-C minus, 8-D plus, while 2 got D plain.

Chewoyet High school Deputy Principal in charge of academics Vincent Ayerer said that the school has emerged to be the top school in the County after getting a mean of 8.7, which is a B plus from 8.3 of last year.

He said had 311 students with a transition rate to university of 97 percent.

Chewoyet High school Deputy Principal in charge of Administration Amos Gesike reiterated that the school had means of 8.7 with a university entry of 97%.

“We got 1 A-, 24 A-, 56 B+, 90 B, 75 B-, 50 C+, 12 C,1 C- It has been possible because of team work,” he said.

He thanked all stakeholders for their support towards the results.

“We thank teachers, Principal, board of management, parents and County and National Governments,” he said.

Veronica Korkech, a parent lauded the school for performing well.

Robert Chemos said that Chewoyet has restored its glory after posting the good results.

Julia Tomena thanked God and the school Chief principal for the good results.
