With the African football fraternity waiting with bated breath for the announcement of the prestigious African Player of the Year, the list of nominees for 2024 has sparked passionate debates among fans and analysts in equal measure.

The list of candidates is headed by five incredible talents, namely: Simon Adingra from Côte d'Ivoire, Serhou Guirassy from Guinea, Achraf Hakimi from Morocco, Ademola Lookman from Nigeria, and Ronwen Williams from South Africa.

Each of the players has demonstrated exceptional skill and determination over the last year, making the choice as to who should win very challenging.Simon Adingra has been pivotal for his club and national team.

Ademola Lookman represents an exciting attacking option for Nigeria because of his ability to break defenses with great skill and power.

This has made him fans' favorite. Lookman's impressive form in various competitions raises his profile as a genuine contender for the award, reflecting his hard work and commitment to his national team.

Lastly, South African goalkeeper Ronwen Williams has been solid at the back. Equipped with great stopping skills, he has shown strong leadership on the pitch.
