Wasteful starlets Knocked out of 2024 WAFCON championships

Harambee starlets bottled their chances of qualifying to the 2024 African Cup of Nations with two missed penalties in both legs leading to a 2-1 loss against Botswana on Agrregate.
Starlets had been forced to a 1-1 draw in Nairobi on the first leg played last week which they missed alot of scoring chances including a missed penalty, In the second leg played at Gaborone, Botswana on Tuesday the home girls lost 1-0 while missing yet another penalty and a ton of chances that would cost their WAFCON fate.
Starlets had just won a penalty nine minutes into the second half of the return leg but Cynthia Shilwatso's shot was perfectly saved by Botswana's keeper by her right hand.
Starlets were caught off guard while trying to search for a goal when Botswana's Keitumetse Ditsebe stayed composed and looped the ball over Starlets goalkeeper to award the hosts with an opener.
The Hosts moved on to prevent a more attacking starlets from a scoring opportunity forcing the match to end in their favor.
The defeat will see Kenya miss on the tournament next year after just having made their debut in 2016 while Botswana will be returning in the tournament after their maiden appearance in Morocco last year.
Kenya will have to wait to 2026 until try another shot.
