Why Syokau asked Pastor Ezekiel for forgiveness

Not long after a video of gospel singer Justina Syokau emerged online, tearfully begging for forgiveness from the pastor of New Life Church in Mavueni, Kilifi County, Ezekiel Odero, the pastor responded in a gentlemanly manner.

Syokau admitted that she wronged Ezekiel when he was troubled by the police in connection to the Shakahola murder scandal.

In the video, she said that after the pastor was taken into custody by the police, she made a video expressing her joy over claims that Ezekiel had once preached, condemning single mothers raising children without their fathers, saying they lack a marriage star.

With tears, she admitted that this statement has been hurting her a lot since then she lost her work star and has never been invited to perform at shows, also adding that her child is very sick.

Ezekiel, in a video that emerged on TikTok, also responded to Syokau saying he has no ill will towards her and had already forgiven her long before she even thought of apologizing.

"Yesterday I saw on TikTok a lady who was a singer, I think she is still a singer, when I was arrested she spoke ill of me. I didn't know and I usually don't bother. Later she came back repenting that pastor I spoke ill of you forgive me servant of God. I ask my God to forgive her and bless her. Because she didn't know what she was saying," Odero said.

The pastor challenged his believers saying that if you truly have love, you need to forgive and love the one who shows you hatred.

"If you truly have sincere love, then you should show your enemies love, you love even those who hate you," he added.
