You can now access subsidised fertiliser at Ward level, farmers told
By Peter Ochieng
Bungoma governor Ken Lusaka says residents can now easily access subsidised fertilizer from the national government, at the Ward level.
He said the Western region county recently recieved over 200, 000 bags of fertiliser, to be sold to farmers at Sh2, 500 per 50kg bag, down from between Sh6, 500 and Sh7, 000 when president William Ruto took over a year ago.
"We received a consignment of 258,000 bags of subsidised fertilizer for our farmers from the national government. You can now access it in your Wards," said Lusaka.
Lusaka added that lowering the cost of fertiliser is a big relief to farmers.
"Our farm yields will increase tremendously. Farmers should capitalise on this program to enhance food security."
He called on opposition to give him and other elected leaders time, among them President Ruto time to deliver on their mandate.
"We have rolled out numerous projects across the county and the country. Give us an easy time to deliver."
The county boss spoke at Sikimbilo Catholic Church, Webuye West Sub County during a Sunday service, where he gave a personal donation of Sh100,000 and 100,000 bags of cement towards infrastructural development of the place of worship.
He used the opportunity to invite residents for the inauguration of the Bungoma County Intergrated Development Plan (CIDP) 2022-2027, today.
