Chief's Body Found at a Dam Near His Home

Police in Chepalungu, Bomet County, are investigating an incident in which the body of an Assistant Chief was found floating at a Dam ,100 meters away from his residence.

Confirming the incident, Chepalungu police boss Phanton Analo informed Kenya News Agency that the body of Kapsimba sub-location administrator David Kipronoi Tonui was discovered by area residents who then alerted relevant authorities.

“Our officers were informed of the body of a male person floating in an isolated dam, after responding to the scene, the body was recovered which was later confirmed to be that of Kapsimba sub-location administrator David Kipronoi Tonui,” explained Analo.

Analo added that the deceased had minor injuries to the head and investigations have started to unravel what might have transpired.

The deceased was reported to have been last seen at the Kapisimba trading centre the previous day.

The deceased's body has since been moved to Longisa County Referral Hospital mortuary pending post-mortem examination.
