Three people in have been arrested in Bomet County for flaunting laws regulating sale of alcoholic drinks.

Nancy Chepkemoi from Motigo, Bomet East was arrested for being in possession of two litres of chang'aa.

At the same time, Jane Rono from Moburo, Kyogong’ Location and Sharon Langat from Gas Barak, Kapsimbiri were arrested for being selling alcoholic drinks without license.

On the other hand, two other culprits were found to be in possession of 12 and 10 bottle of Shakers brands which were confiscated as exhibits.

The swoop, which was led by Silibwet Township Location Chief Reuben Ngetich also saw 50 litres of busaa destroyed in the house of one Evalyne Rono of Mitimingi, Kyogong' Location.

Ngetich said Mercy Korir of Kamenwo village, Kyogong' location, managed to escape with an unknown amount of chang'aa.

Those arrested have been booked at Bomet police for processing, before being arraigned in court.

Silibwet Township Location Chief Reuben Ngetich said the war on illegal alcohol and drugs would continue, while warning partakers of the same on the health risks posed by such substances.
