By Peter Ochieng Wiper party leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka has been urged to look at the bigger picture, instead of clouding his mind with being nominated as running mate, under the Azimio La Umoja - Kenya game plan, as Kenyans prepare for the August 09, 2022 polls. Speaking on KTN News morning prime show on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, political analyst Herman Manyora said Kalonzo's bigger picture should be how to become president in the future, instead of centering his mind around becoming Raila Odinga's running mate in Azimio. "Political leaders always lose the big picture. They always go for the small thing - small antelope when a whole buffalo is waiting to be slaughtered. If I were Kalonzo I would look at the bigger picture, I would look at the long game," said Professor Manyora. He continued, "If you look at the short game, you are going for deputy president. That is a small position. Ruto's tenure has shown you that being deputy president is almost nothing at the end of the day." He added that a good Cabinet position is better than being a running mate or a deputy president for that matter. He said Kalonzo runs the risk of being named running mate only to end up being treated 'the way William Ruto' has been treated, terming it as terminal in his political career. DP Ruto has severally complained of being sidelined by President Uhuru Kenyatta, since the March 2018 handshake with ODM party leader Raila Odinga. Musyoka has insisted that he deserves the slot to deputize Odinga, having done so in the 2013 and 2017 general elections
