Suspects behind whipping old lady, young man in viral video arrested

[Photo: Courtesy][/caption]The video of them assaulting the woman and the young man went viral online prompting irate responses from members of the public who called upon law enforcement to take action against the suspects.
Police took note of the incident terming it as an act of victimization against the two which is unjustified, unlawful and cruel.
"The NPS joins outraged Kenyans in condemning the uncalled brutality against the two. There are legally laid down procedures for settling conflicts between people. The rule of law should always prevail against the rule of the mob in all situations." In the emotional video, the lady identified as Mama Kwamboka is seen begging for mercy, but her aggressors ignore her calls and continue whipping her. One of the men heard speaking in the video accused Mama Kwamboka of insulting his brother and being disrespectful. She was also accused of stripping which is a taboo in the Luo community. “Please help, he is killing me…You had ordered me to leave, I’m going now,” she cried for help. Responding to the video, Dr Matiang’i noted that he has directed the Nyanza region police boss to immediately apprehend the perpetrators and onlookers who cheered over the aggression. “This is intolerable gender violence! It doesn’t matter what this woman did! I have asked the RC Nyanza and his security team to immediately hunt for these beastly perpetrators & their crowd of onlookers and apprehend them so that an opportunity is set for them to face the law!” he tweeted
