Police nab notorious phone racket thief

A suspected mastermind behind a racket of theft of phones in Kisumu identified by police as Jenifer Emal has been apprehended.

The thirty-year-old woman was arrested by police at a hideout in Obunga slums of Kisumu.

Speaking to the press, Kisumu Central OCPD Peter Mulai disclosed that police also recovered a laptop and an assortment of 49 mobile handsets.

Mulai thanked the members of the public for volunteering critical information to police leading to the arrest.

The arrest comes less than a month after the Kisumu Police Commissioner declared a crackdown on criminals in Kisumu County.

The suspect will be arraigned in Court today.
