Detectives seize stolen shipment worth sh.10 million

A joint team of DCI detectives draw from Nairobi and Kilindini have recovered stolen goods estimated to be worth about sh. 10 million at Saika area in Nairobi County.
The Assorted goods including cooking appliances and household equipments which had been stolen while on transit from the Port of Mombasa to Malindi.
According to the DCI, the container with the goods is suspected to have been diverted by the driver who in collaboration with others failed to deliver the goods to the intended recipient, claiming that the truck had developed mechanical problems at Kikambala, along the busy Mombasa-Malindi highway.
The consignment recepient reported the incident at Kilindini Police Station upon failing to receive thr consignment which led to a joint operation to recover the stolen goods.
The successful operation was spearheaded by sleuths from the elite Crime Research & Intelligence Bureau, based at Nairobi Area.
The DCI reports that one of the suspects Francis Victor Karua Gathii was arrested and is now in custody assisting detectives with investigations.
