By Judy Jerono The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has dismissed an advertisement calling for applications of polling clerks and returning officers. On its twitter account, IEBC said they have not advertised for any such positions and are calling on the public to ignore the advertisement. The commission termed the advertisement which purportedly called for 262,665 applicants as fake. The advert which has gone viral on social media is calling for short term job applications for polling and counting clerks ahead of the General Elections which is scheduled to take place on August 9. This is not the first time a fake job advertisement has gone viral on social media. It has now been a trend that prompted the IEBC to caution Kenyans on such adverts urging them to take extra care about online fraudsters whose aim are to con them adding that the commission normally posts any arising issue from its official accounts.
