President William Ruto has directed for the execution of the recommendations in the Maraga Taskforce and other previous reports in inclusive and participatory trajectory.

The head of state gave the directive during the launch of the strategic framework for the implementation of terms of service for the Police, Prisons and the National Youth Servic that will guide the implementation of the reforms, at the Kenya School of Government in Lower Kabete, Nairobi County on Wednesday.

President Ruto also insisted that development of any policies and legislative reforms proposed in the documents be informed by extensive public participation to ensure that civilian interests and insights are fully taken into consideration.

The government has further announced that the full implementation of the reforms will cost the country KES 106 billion.

KES 22 billion of the allocation is earmarked for improving compensation packages for the officers, KES 37 billion will be spent on upgrading their hardware and welfare and KES 45 billion will go into modernisation of various security services.

"We are reforming, equipping and motivating our law enforcement officers to make them more professional in our efforts to ensure a security service with the requisite integrity to secure Kenya." President Ruto said.

Meanwhile, CS Kindiki has already gazetted a 13-member technical committee to oversee the implementation of the recommendations made by the Maraga Taskforce.

" We have invested great effort into this endeavour, but there's still a lot of work that we will be undertaking after the launch of this strategic framework." Internal PS Raymond Omollo stated.

"This landmark reform will significantly improve the welfare, working conditions, and professionalism within our security agencies, enhancing their efficiency and strengthening national security." He added.
