The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has responded to a fake recruitment advertisement seeking to hire employees.
KeNHA has reacted to the letter asking Kenyans to be wary of the scam purporting to offer employment with a monthly salary of up to Ksh76,000.
KeNHA flagged the advertisement as fake, further advising Kenyans that it was not recruiting at the moment and cautioned citizens against being duped.
In a statement on Thursday, April 21, KeNHA stated that its official job vacancies are only announced in local dailies and on the agency's website.
KeNHA warned Kenyans against falling into the traps of scammers seeking to steal their hard-earned cash adding that KeNHA does not ask for any money.
"It has come to our attention that there are people purporting to be working for KeNHA and are sending employment offer letters to individuals."
"KeNHA vacant positions are only advertised through National Dailies and KeNHA website. Interviews are conducted for the shortlisted applicants and successful candidates are issued with official appointment offer letters. KeNHA does not ask for money for the recruitment process," the authority stated.
The statement further read that the shortlisted candidates are enrolled at the Kenya Institute of Highways & Building Technology (KIHBT) and undergo a one-week specialized training before the reporting date.

According to the mail, the tuition charges for the training was Ksh80,000- but the purported hiring notice only asked for Ksh40,000 from applicants.
In the same fake job announcement, it read that the candidates were also required to share their personal documents such as Identification cards, Curriculum vitae, letter of recommendation, and KIHBT specialized course training certificate.
"If we do not hear from you by April 22, 2022, this offer will be automatically withdrawn. Accommodation will be provided during the training period, this arrangement is provided to you as an individual hence no spouse or children," read part of the letter.
Many Kenyans have in the past lost their money through a well-organized fake job advertisement with some of the fraud schemes obtaining the personal information of Kenyans that is used for other activities.
