Motorcyclist and his passenger killed at Kimana

A motorcyclist and his passenger died on the spot Saturday night at Kimana Trading Centre along Emali- Loitoktok road after the rider had a head on collision with a trailer coming from the opposite direction.

Confirming the accident, Loitoktok Sub County Police Commander David Kamau said the trailer from Tanzania was avoiding colliding with another vehicle when it came head on with the motorcycle.

The bodies of the deceased were taken to Loitoktok Sub County Hospital mortuary while the trailer was taken to Kimana police post.

The driver of the trailer who escaped unhurt was arrested and is detained at police station awaiting arraigning in court for careless driving.

Kamau has advised road users to be careful on the road to avoid such accident, noting that this accident follows another accident which happened at Kimana where a pedestrian was knocked down by a vehicle as he crossed the road and died later while receiving treatment at Loitoktok Sub County Hospital.
