President William Ruto Commisions water project in Malaba

President William Ruto has commissioned the Malaba water supply and sanitation project Lot 1 on Sunday at Malakisi, Bungoma County.
The project will produce six million litres of water a day, serving Malaba, Malakisi, Mt-Elgon, Bungoma, Busia, Ang’urai, Kimaeti, among others.
Ruto was in Busia County where he attended an Inter denomination church service accompanied by Prime Cabinet Secretary Hon Musalia W Mudavadi, National Assembly Speaker Moses Masika Wetang'ula, E.G.H,MP, Governors Paul Otuoma (Busia), Ken Lusaka (Bungoma), MPs led by Majority Leader Kimani Ichung'wah and MCAs.
The Head of State noted that the government is committed to ensure all Kenyans have acess to clean and affordable water for domestic and agricultural use.
"The Government’s focused investment in water projects will ensure that all Kenyans have access to clean and affordable water for domestic and agricultural use to unlock our productivity and spur economic growth." President Ruto said in a statement.
While Sharing the Government’s Plan with traders and the people of Malaba and Ang’urai Towns, Ruto committed to enhance cross-border trade by revamping border points.
"Busia and Malaba are East Africa’s trade arteries. We will revamp these border points to make them more efficient to facilitate cross-border businesses in the region." Ruto said.
