Ruto warns against corruption as he reshuffles Principal Secretaries

President William Ruto on Tuesday emphasized on integrity and vigilance within government ministries and departments.

The Head of State cautioned Cabinet Secretaries and other government officers against corruption and wastage, in the provision of services to the public.

He spoke during the 5th Cabinet meeting at State House, Nairobi. Meanwhile, the President has reshuffled Principal Secretaries (PSs) in various ministries.

The shake-up comes a day after the Head of State sacked Dr. Josephine Mburu as the PS for Public Health over a procurement scandal at the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA).

A communication by the Head of Public Service Felix Koskei indicates that Mburu will be replaced by Mary Muthoni Muriuki, who has been transferred from the State Department of Correctional Services.

Muriuki's place will be taken up by Esther Ngero.

Ngero has been charge of Performance Management in the office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary.

Peter Tum has been moved from the Medical Services to the Sports docket, replacing Jonathan Mueke who has has been shifted to the Livestock Development, department in the Ministry of Agriculture.

Ephantus Kimani who was in charge of the Forestry department moves to the Irrigation department, while Harry Kimtai who was the PS for Livestock Development will now head the Medical Services docket.

Gitonga Mugambi who was serving as the Irrigation department Principal Secretary has been moved to the forestry docket.

Additionally, President Ruto nominated Faith Njeri Harrison for appointment as the PS for Performance Management, within the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary.
