Airtel Kenya to roll-out 100 additional 5G sites

Airtel Networks Kenya Limited is rolling out additional 100 5G sites across the country before the end of the year.
The move, according to a press release by the company is in a quest to enhance internet connectivity to Airtel customers across the country by offering them high speed, low latency, and seamless connection of several devices, as characterised by the revolutionary technology of the 5G network.
Roll-out of the new sites will see Airtel Kenya's 5G sites increase from 180 to 221 wards, and from 15 to 32 counties.
After the roll-out, Airtel’s 5G presence will be in Nairobi, Kiambu, Mombasa, Nakuru, Uasin Gishu, Machakos, Kisumu, Kilifi, Kajiado, Kwale, Kakamega, Bomet and Embu counties.
Other counties are; Homabay, Kericho, Kirinyaga, Laikipia, Meru, Busia, Garissa, Migori, Bungoma, Muranga, Kisii, Kitui, Makueni, Taita Taveta, Tana River, Nyamira, Nyeri, Siaya and Nyandarua.

On 6th July 2023, Airtel Kenya announced the launch of its 5G network in Kenya rolling out 372 sites then, and committed to further expanding its 5G footprint across the country.
The company's 5G packages include 5G unlimited 10Mbps at Sh3,500, 5G unlimited 30Mbps at Sh5,500 and 5G unlimited 50Mbps at Sh7,500 per month, respectively.
"There are also volume-based data plans for individual homes available from Sh2,999. With the expansion of the 5G network, more Kenyans can now efficiently utilise the above-mentioned packages," adds the press release.
The company seeks to enable more individuals, homes, and businesses to enjoy the limitless possibilities brought forth by the 5G network.
