Barca coach Xavi admits Dembele is PSG bound

FC Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez admitted that winger Ousmane Dembele is on the verge of joining Paris Saint Germain, adding that he was "disappointed" with the player.

Xavi was asked about Dembele after his side closed their North American tour with a 1-0 win over AC Milan thanks to an Ansu Fati goal.

PSG have activated a clause that gives them the right to talk to Dembele and Xavi explained the player's situation.

"The question of Dembele is simple: he came to us with a proposal from Paris and he wants to go: he has spoken to Luis Enrique (PSG coach) and the people at Paris and he has an offer that we can't match," Xavi told the press after the game in Las Vegas.

"I suppose he (Dembele) will give more explanations and how I feel about things isn't important: Disappointed, perhaps, but the important thing is that the player has been clear. He has told us that he wants to go; he has an offer that we can't compete with and I wish him luck," said the Barca coach, who explained Dembele had been "clear" about his intention.

"He had been really happy and I wasn't expecting it," continued Xavi, commenting that "life goes on," but insisting that Barca would need to sign a replacement this summer.
