The Democratic Alliance Party of Kenya's young team in Bungoma County has changed the grassroots leadership in a number of ways.

According to Chris Makokha, the party's immediate chairman, the tactics are meant to guarantee that the party maintains influence over the Kenya Kwanza government following the ODM's entry into the government, as well as over the county.

In order to carry out the party's responsibilities as planned, he claimed that the modifications tend to make youth leagues lively.

Youths said that the DAP-K fights for the locals' rights in Bungoma so that the government will take notice of them and listen to them.

They pledged to assume the opposition's duty of holding the government accountable and making sure it is delivering for Kenyans.

"The party that is left these days that is fighting for the lower class is the DAP-K party, because some people from Azimio have decided to enter the government to help Ruto, now my job will be easy," said Makokha.

The DAP-K wanted the county government of Bungoma to use responsibly the tax paid by the citizens.

They acknowledged that they held the county responsible for the taxes collected by outlining to the county's citizens how the funds are typically spent.

To ensure this is carried out, they have asked the County Assembly Members to supervise and produce an accurate report regarding tax revenue and federal funds.

Their goal is to guarantee that funds are allocated wisely to initiatives that assist the local population.

"We want to sit down and start asking for this money that we have been giving as the youth in the whole county have been doing the work that is needed," he said. "I want to ask the government that took the opportunity to lead us here in Bungoma that the youth together with the whole community has been giving tax."

Most of the Western Region is being absorbed by the DAP-K party, especially in Bungoma and Trans Nzoia.

One of the dynamic leaders gaining popularity for the party is George Natembeya, the governor of Trans Nzoia, who was elected under the DAP-K.

Earlier, the FORD Kenya party of Speaker of National Assembly Moses Wetang'ula was dominating in Bungoma and Trans Nzoia but later wrangles emerged and some key leaders ditched the party and created DAP-K.
