DP Gachagua shoud tame his tongue - MP Mbui
By Peter Ochieng
Kathiani Member of Parliament (MP) Robert Mbui has seemingly accused Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua of 'talking too much.'
Gachagua who refers to himself as truthful man is known for his sharp tongue and speaking his mind on various issues, both local and national.
One of his controversial statements has been his stand that president William Ruto's government is made up of shareholders, who must be given job opportunities first before those who never supported Ruto's presidential bid can dream of getting a chance.
However, MP Mbui is among Kenyans who want the second in command to tame his sharp tongue, and come out of his belief that Central Kenya should always get the best.
"This government perceives the opposition as its enemy. Looking at the history of Kenya Kwanza leaders, they're not known for honesty. DP Gachagua needs to tame his tongue because he seems to believe that the Central region deserves the most," he said while appearing on Citizen TV's Day Break show on Monday morning.
Speaking in Nandi County over the weekend, the DP threatened to sack 100 chiefs by Christmas for failing to deal with the challenge of alcoholism.
"I don't want to fire chiefs but by this Christmas if the brew is still there I have to sack 10 to 15 chiefs from Nandi. It will be very painful for me. I love the chiefs but I love the young people more. I want before Christmas I want to sack about 100 chiefs in the whole country they serve as a lesson to others," he stated.
"We have to decide whether it is the chief or alcohol that goes home and since alcohol des not have a brain of its own the chief is the one to to decide," he added.
Last week, Gachagua denied claims that his relationship with president William Ruto was facing challenges.
