Gachagua exposes Ruto-Raila secret meeting details

Leaders from Azimio are preparing to meet to discuss the comments made by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua about a supposed agreement between President William Ruto and Raila Odinga that excludes Wiper's Kalonzo Musyoka.
In a recent interview on Wednesday with Citizen Tv, Makali Mulu, the Member of Parliament for Kitui Central, voiced his apprehension about Gachagua's statements, cautioning that such a pact could undermine the opposition's efforts to keep the government in check.
Mulu mentioned that they plan to determine if intelligence reports corroborate Gachagua's claims or if they are simply political posturing.
However, if there is indeed an agreement between Raila and Ruto, Kalonzo's supporters from the lower eastern region would resist the pact and push for their own set of requirements.
"The president has access to intelligence from all government branches. He might be making these claims based on informed insights. If that's the case, we have no reason to participate in those discussions," he said.
Mulu also criticized the Deputy President's approach to win over the region, even blaming him for disclosing details of the discussions between Ruto and Raila, which contradicts an agreement made by a bipartisan team chosen to represent the two leaders.
"We didn't appreciate it, and the public's response was evident. He should have shown sympathy for our colleague and then perhaps requested us to join their side," Mulu criticized the Deputy President.
"We contribute taxes to this government, and we will insist on receiving a fair portion of these taxes," the legislator further stated.
On Tuesday, Gachagua alleged that Raila was manipulating Kalonzo through the ongoing talks, also suggesting that the ODM leader was prioritizing his personal interests in the agreement with Ruto.
The Deputy President made contentious comments at the funeral of Mwala MP Vincent Musyoka (Kawaya)'s mother.
"Those discussions will yield nothing. It's a futile effort. I'm saying this as the Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya," said Deputy President.
Gachagua claimed that the supposed deal was arranged in Mombasa, but he did not provide specific details about the agreement, the exact date, or the individuals involved.
"Raila sought out Ruto recently, and he arrived without Kalonzo. He only spoke for himself, his children, and his people. He has now dispatched Kalonzo to the talks where the agenda does not address the concerns of the Ukambani," Gachagua alleged.
Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka have not yet responded to Gachagua's accusations.
