Tana River County Executive Committee Member for Lands, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries Ms.Mwanajuma Hiribae Mabuke has called on politicians to give the Land registration and demarcation process good time to avoid conflicts in the area.
Ms.Mabuke said community land parcels will be registered as community land and single or individual parcels of land will also be registered as individual land.
Speaking to the press today at her Lands office in Hola, Ms Mabuke who is also the Acting County Secretary called on the local leaders not to ger involved in land registration process negatively so as to promote understanding, unity and cohesion among the communities in the County.
She also urged the local leaders in Gwano and Wayu areas to avoid interfering with the process because the Land registration should not be seen as a process to stop livestock farmers from getting enough land for grazing their animals.
The Executive Member for Lands said the Community land owners will decide on how they going to use their land whether for grazing or agriculture.
She further said that if the land registration and demarcation process succeed, the owners will be issued with title deeds that would enable them obtain loans from financial institutions to develop their Land.
