Man faces charges of illegal possession of bhang

A young man has been brought before a Murang’a court charged with illegal possession of bhang.
Denilson Kabacia was charged that on February 25 in Mugoiri, Murang’a County, he was found in possession of 30 grams of bhang with a street value of Sh300 at his parent’s home.
The prosecutor tabled the facts of the case stating that on February 25, Edward Mwaniki, Kabacia’s father went to check on his son in his room in the morning at 6: 30a.m were he discovered the bhang.
He found the bhang placed on the table and apprehended the accused who didn’t say a word.
He then proceeded to report the matter to Kahuro police station and Kabacia was arrested.
In his mitigation, the accused said that he was using bhang to induce appetite since he was sick and hadn’t eaten for days.
Senior Principal Magistrate, Edwin Nyaga, asked the probation officer to present a report on June 9, when jugment will be passed.
