A team from Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital led by Dr. Philip Kirwa, the Senior Director, Clinical Services held a two days free medical camp on Monday and Tuesday at Lodwar county referral hospital (LCRH).

The MTRH team that also donated assorted foodstuffs, clothes, and medicines to the patients consisted of surgeons, clinical medicine experts, pharmacists and nutritionists among other disciplines.

The camp also aimed at providing support to Turkana County and foster partnership.

Deputy Governor Dr John Erus lauded the collaboration between MTRH and LCRH for the successful implementation of the free medical camp, which, he noted significantly contributed to the well-being of the people.

He encouraged the transfer of skills and capacity building among the locals, to enhance healthcare provision.

DG Erus also emphasized the Governor’s healthcare agenda.

Chief Officer of Medical Services, Dr Gilchrist Lokoel highlighted the MTRH free health camp as a classic example of the strategic objectives of the County Department of Health. "This collaborative effort between MTRH and LCRH stands as a positive example of effective healthcare support and cooperation," said Lokoel.
