Ministry of health signs return-to- work agreement with Kenya Union of clinical officers ending strike

The Ministry of Health has reached to a compromised with the Kenya Union of Clinical officers that saw the successful signing of a return - to - work formula for the Clinical officers ending their lengthy strike. 

"Today, the Ministry of Health has successfully negotiated and signed a return-to-work agreement with the Kenya Union of Clinical Officers (KUCO), effectively endingl the ongoing strike." A statement by MOH read. 

The new agreement will see clinical officers benefit from enhanced salaries, improved employment terms, comprehensive medical cover, expanded training opportunities, and reinforced health and safety measures.

The resolution addresses critical concerns and ensures stability within the healthcare sector. 

This follows the signing of a Return to Work Formula agreement between the workers’ union and the Council of Governors (CoG) on July which allowed COs to return to work on July 9.

“We have been on strike until today. By virtue of signing this agreement, we are officially declaring that our strike has come to an end,” said KUCO Secretary General George Gibore.
