New life home trust celebrates its open day

The New Life Home Trust, a Charitable Children Institution (CCI), yesterday held its open day to celebrate and discuss the role of parents in need and protection of children. 

During the open day held at the home situated near Green Hills Hotel within Nyeri town, adoptive parents, potential parents and other stakeholders attended to review, celebrate and discuss the role of parents in reintegrating, rescuing and adopting children in need of care and protection.

The CCI rescues and shelters abandoned babies aged between 0-6 months for care and protect them until they are three years, with a view of reintegrating them into families through adoption. This year's theme "ADOPTION IS BEAUTIFUL".

Speaking during the occasion while representing the CECM Social Services Esther Ndung'u, the Director Social Services Monica Thumbi noted, "To the loving parents who have embarked on this incredible journey of adoption, we commend your open hearts and selflessness”.

She said the home has a maximum capacity of 22 babies at a time adding that the current population varies depending on the new rescues, reintegration and adoption.

She added that yesterday was a special day as parents gathered to celebrate the joyous occasion of this adoption ceremony.

Visitors witnessed the culmination of love, hope, and a lifelong commitment to caring for these incredible children. 

Main topics discussed include: adoption process, care reforms, Guardianship, Re- integration, Guidelines and Legal requirements, children rights, moral obligation of the community, and endless successful stories.

She also thanked the volunteers of this children's home for deciding to support the children saying “through your decision, you have chosen to provide these beautiful children with the love, support, and stability they deserve. Your unwavering dedication to creating a forever family bond is truly inspiring," said Ms. Thumbi.

"The road to adoption takes immense courage, patience, and determination to navigate the adoption and foster care process. May you embrace it with immense joy and fulfillment that adoption brings," she added.

Ms. Thumbi also advised the children present to know that they are special; "Please know that you hold a special place in all of our hearts. Each of you is a unique symbol of hope, resilience, and strength. Today marks a new chapter in your lives – a chapter filled with unconditional love, guidance, and endless possibilities,” said Thumbi. 

She added that adoption is a testimony to the power of love and the impact it can have on a young life. It goes beyond blood ties, as it is built upon a foundation of devotion, trust, and a shared journey of growth as a family saying each passing day will be a reminder of the incredible gift you have given one another.

She called on all citizens to continue supporting and uplifting each other as we work towards a world where every child finds a loving home.
