Nthozweni Primary School Exam Centre Manager in Kaiti division Makueni Sub- County was arrested on Wednesday after he went to collect examination papers from a Kaiti Container while drunk.
The Centre Manager who is also the head teacher of the school, was also said to be dirty besides arriving late to collect examination papers and he was not dressed appropriately as he was wearing slippers.
Makueni County Teachers Service Commission (TSC) Director Grace Mwangi confirmed the incident while speaking to KNA in her Wote office today.
“The teacher was extremely dirty and smelled of alcohol. He never looked sober and came to collect the examination papers at 6.38am instead of being at the container by 5.45am,” said Mwangi.
“We could not trust the head teacher to administer the examination the way he was. He was arrested and is being held at Mukuyuni Police Post and will be arraigned in court tomorrow,” she posed.
The Director revealed they were on their normal routine of inspection with the county Security team when the teacher arrived at the Kaiti Container while drunk.
However, Madam Mwangi noted that her office will conduct proper investigations before disciplinary action can be taken against him.
The director revealed that the teacher was posted to the school in June 7, 2023, after having undergone rehabilitation for 3 months from March this year.
