Two goals from Sergio Camello including an extra time brace secured Spain the men's Olympics gold medal in a dramatic 5-3 victory against hosts France at Parc Des Princes in Paris on Friday evening.
It was France who opened the scoresheet courtesy of Enzo Billot's 11th minute strike before a quick equalizer by Barcelona's teenage star Fermin Lopez in the 21st minute.
Lopez bagged his brace with another at the 25th minute to put Spain ahead before Villarreal’s Alex Baena added the third through an emphatic free kick at the 28th minute.
France mounted an incredible comeback after going 3-1 down to send the game to extra time as Maghnes Akliouche pulled a goal back in the 79th before a VAR review awarded the hosts a penalty that Jean-Philippe Mateta converted in stoppage time.
Sergio Camello scored 10 minutes into the extra period and scored another at the end to earn Spain their first Olympic title since 1992.
Spain eliminated Morocco on their way to the finals while France earned a hard victory against Argentina at the Semi Finals.
Spain are just adding more trophies to their cabinet following their Euro 2024 triumph just a month ago in Germany and the UEFA nations league triumph.
