The construction of Subukia Sub County Hospital's Inpatient and Outpatient Complex project has made significant progress, with residents warming up to its completion.
Nakuru County Health Infrastructure Coordinator Gerald Maina, Engineers from public works and the contractor are working round the clock to ensure it is completed as scheduled, to ease access of healthcare services by the residents.
Maina, who led the team in an inspection of the facility noted that the construction was now at 45 percent since its inception earlier this year.
"The construction work is moving on swiftly, with blocks A and B already at 80 percent completion. The contractor has assured us that the project will be completed on schedule,” noted Maina.
The residents of the Subcounty have high hopes that the facility, once completed will ease their access to specialized services that they travelled to Bahati Subcounty hospital, or Nyahururu County Referral Hospital.
“With better infrastructure, I am sure that plans are also underway to deploy the best resources and equipment including the manpower we need.
“We have been assured of timely completion and it is our wish that it is done without any hitches,” noted Grace Nyambura, who sought antenatal services at the facility.
Governor Susan Kihika, while commissioning the Sh120 Million infrastructure in March this year noted that minor surgeries, specialized dental and eye clinics would be set up at the facility.
The facility will also be equipped with a laboratory, pharmacy and blood store with an accident and emergency unit.
