Sports Journalist Sean Cordovillis is Dead

Renowned sports commentator and Capital FM sports presenter Sean Cardovillis is dead.
Reports indicate that Sean's body was found on Saturday morning lying lifeless outside his house along Rhapta Road, Westlands where he lived alone.
According to the police, the body was found at his staircase by a cleaner who had gone to clean the area leading to his house on the fourth floor of an apartment, police and witnesses said.
Witnesses say the cleaner raused Alarm immediately with medics declaring him dead upon arrival at the scene after closely examining his body.
Sean's medical condition was last made public in February 2022 when his family shared a notice online appealing for financial help to settle medical bills after he was admitted to Higher Dependency Unit over lung complications which later came to be diagnosed as pneumonia.
"Sean has been hospitalized for a while now. The chest pains he had been experiencing for a while turned into pneumonia and one of his lungs collapsed, he also had an infection around his heart," the notice from the family read in part
He was scheduled to interview multiple world and Olympic champion and triple world record holder Faith Kipyegon.
He had a passion for motocross. He had in June 2023 returned to Capital FM after 18 years.
Cardovillis had made his name known as an enthusiast sports presenter who had great passion for Motorsport with an experience of over 20 years in Radio and television.
He has previously worked for Capital FM, Standard Group PLC and Nation Media Group in the Sports category. Between 2006 and 2012, he worked for Paradise FM in the Tal FM in the Seychelles.
Throughout his career, he won accolades, including the 2007 BBC Africa Radio Award for sports and the Sport Award at the 2007 CNN/Multichoice African Journalist of the Year Awards.
The journalist has also covered international sporting events, including the London and Rio Olympics, the Cricket World Cup, the Commonwealth Games and the Africa Cup of Nations. He has also interviewed golf legend Tiger Woods twice in Dubai at the Dubai Desert Classic.
His career began in 1997 at Capital FM as a presenter and rose through the ranks to become the sports editor. After 17 years, he joined Nation as a radio sports commentator before transitioning to TV as a sports journalist.
In 2020, he confirmed leaving NTV and sought to take a break from active journalism.
A year later, he announced a comeback to Capital FM after 18 years, presenting sports updates from Mondays to Saturdays.
Tributes continue to flow in from different sports lovers and presenter with Carol Radull describing him as a Kenyan legend.

An autopsy is expected to be conducted to determine the cause of his sudden demise.
